Short version: scan data never leaves your Mac, and this page lists every network request the app can make.
What the app stores
Scan results, snapshots, quarantine backups, and an action timeline are written to ~/Library/Application Support/macwatchdog on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded. Delete the folder to delete everything.
Network requests the app makes
- Update checks to
macwatchdog.com/appcast.xml, via the open-source Sparkle framework. The request carries the app version and macOS version so the right update is offered. When you install an update, the new version is downloaded frommacwatchdog.com/downloads/. Turn checks off in Settings › Updates. - License activation (Pro only) to
api.lemonsqueezy.comwhen you enter a key, and a validation at most once a week afterwards. It sends your key and your Mac's computer name (so you can recognize the seat). Deactivate in Settings › License to remove it.
There are no analytics, crash reporters, or third-party SDKs beyond Sparkle. The command-line engine makes no network requests at all — every check reads local system state.
Purchases
Checkout and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. They receive your email and payment details under their privacy policy; this site never does. Your email is used to deliver the key and for support.
This website
Static pages, no cookies, no analytics scripts. The host records standard access logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) which are retained briefly for security and then discarded.
